Vice President (Engineering)

Responsibilities:
- Hire, build and develop a high performing team of leaders and engineers
- Manage and coordinate the engineering roadmap with Product and Data, providing accurate resource and timeline estimations
- Foster a culture that allows for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling
- Ensure compliance with security regulations
- Develop, maintain, and regularly report on success metrics that measure the operational health, performance, effectiveness and efficiency of the products the team is responsible for delivering
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment
- Prioritise workloads against available resources and desired level of business impact
- Develop a strategy that enables the business through innovation and efficiencies, incorporating reliability and security principles in alignment with the company’s goals
- Develop productive, collaborative, cross-functional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience in computer science or related science, technology, or engineering fields
- 7+ years of management experience in a technology leadership role, including mentoring and leading software engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and hold accountable a high-performing, distributed team, and ability to bring people together against a set of strategies and goals
- Has deep expertise across several technical domains with a solid foundation in software design and architecture, data structures and algorithms
- Proven experience in hiring, retaining and leading high calibre engineering talent
- Forward-thinking strategist with proven success in translating strategy to tactical plans with high-quality execution and delivery
- Catalyst for positive change with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced growth environment
- Possess a strong interest in fintech / financial services
- Interested in working with data, functions, and characteristics of companies
- A healthy scepticism for the status quo and an unwillingness to settle
- An empathetic leader style and have a strong self-awareness
- Have a basic understanding of terms in financial statements and financial ratios
