New Data Center Site Development Manager, APAC

You will drive the evaluation, selection and development of both new and existing data center campuses and markets across APAC. You will assist the Senior Director in managing these projects through the front end feasibility and development cycle to advance “shovel ready” status, mapping and progressing the entitlement/permitting process, ready to handoff to the Construction Project Management Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Management Team with evaluation and selection of existing data center assets for the purpose of acquiring and developing into a company DC property.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of due diligence and frontend planning for new projects including site assessment, conceptual design, due diligence scope of work, and development of power and fiber strategies, entitlement and permitting.
  • Provide thought leadership and input on projects and assignments, including budget, schedule and coordination with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Evaluate consultants, new technology and delivery methodology associated with land development to gain an edge on speed to market.
  • In collaboration with Construction Project Management Team and at the appropriate time transition due diligence and entitlement/permitting packages to the Construction Project Managers for execution.
  • Involvement in data center community to gain valuable knowledge of best practice, new trends and industry standards.

Duties

  • Assisting the Site Acquisition Team in identifying and selecting new sites in existing and new markets in line with the strategy, including assisting, wherever possible, in negotiation and acquisition of new sites.
  • Drive scope, schedule, and budget decisions to conclusion including managing internal business case approvals, internal and external resources, project teams, contractors and vendors.
  • Report status of all projects in feasibility and front-end development status (risks, schedule, quality and budget) to management.
  • Conduct Consultant/Vendor/Contractor qualification, network management/expansion, new technology evaluation for use on current product line and future product development opportunities.
  • Onboard project due diligence and or relevant consultants and establish project delivery plans, analyze key project risks including impacts on cost and schedule and submit approval packages to executive team.
  • Understand business strategies to align product development and innovation to drive success.
  • Work with sales and marketing to provide technical support wherever needed.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Ensure lessons learned are held and placed in the feedback loop to drive continuous improvement for due diligence, offsite infrastructure and market assessments.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and opportunities to innovate using concepts from within and outside of the data center industry.
  • Provide on demand support to Construction Team from concept through commissioning across the company’s portfolio of construction projects.
  • National and international travel will be required on a regular basis.
