Technical Sales Consultant - Smart Card Solutions

The Technical Sales Consultant helps coordinate all non-sales resources required during the phases of the sales process and drive the sales engagement with sales management.  This position proactively visits and communicates with partners, customers and prospects to understand their changing business requirements and to promote the company’s solutions.

The focus of this role is to develop and grow the business for solutions and services with both the distributors and the customers.

To build a pipeline of opportunities and manage it effectively and successfully to meet revenue targets.

To assist the partners in utilizing the services and solutions within the the company’s portfolio.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work closely with the Regional Sales Managers in each sub-region to build a strong relationship with the distributors, partners and end users by understanding their environment and business challenges. To develop new business opportunities and understanding the company’s applications, training and other daily business transactions.
  • To work closely with the Regional Sales Managers to build a healthy pipeline in the key segments of the market.
  • To work closely with the Regional Sales Managers in all opportunities by understanding the technical requirements and optimizing the company’s offerings in equipment, solutions and services.
  • To be an advisor with partners’ technical teams and to highlight the company’s strengths
  • To coordinate and be involved in demonstrations, presentations, preparation and submission of RFP/RFQ.
  • Participating in the delivery of proposal/bids by ensuring that solution proposed to client is technically feasible and can be successfully delivered.
  • Act as the technical bridge between customers, channel partners, sales colleagues and solution team to clearly identify customers’ requirements and coordinate among the team.
  • Solution business development– Closely monitor market trend and solution requirement. Proactively search for new solution opportunities and taking the lead in creation of new solution.
  • To follow up and win projects and keep the company updated on related projects, to develop strategic relationships with other companies in the market, with emphasis on developing strategic alliance.
  • To assist in the creation of case studies, references and competitive wins in conjunction with the RSM.
  • To perform other duties and/or projects as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A graduate degree in business administration or computer science.
  • Experience (type and years of experience)
  • At least 8-10 years in information technology or software engineering related functions, with particular interest in banking and financial services. Knowledge in the smart card industry, mailing industry, packaging industry, and/or printing industry would be a plus.
  • Specific Skills (job knowledge, technical skills, interpersonal skills, management skills etc)
  • Presentation and public speaking skills would be a necessary skill.
  • Other Skills (Computer literacy, written & spoken languages etc)
  • Pro-active, creative and energetic, taking lead and initiative to make things happen, able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Possess good work attitude, communications skills, and people skills, be willing to self-learn and self-improve continuously.
