Network Engineer (6 months contract)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively monitor, pre-empt, diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify network related problems to ensure high availability and Enterprise network.
  • Change or fine-tune network or system parameters
  • Configuration and Management of security policies and user accounts of the managed network equipment
  • Ensure network connectivity of third party equipment in the network
  • Perform routine backup of configuration
  • Monitoring, configuring and maintaining existing networks and apply patches or perform upgrades where required, including firmware upgrade
  • Network planning and adopting appropriate network protection solutions
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
  • Liaising with third-party vendors
  • Providing technical support to end-users
  • Ensure the highest level of network security, whilst emphasising confidentiality at all times
  • Applying best practice in instigating protection against the risk of cyber security threats, viruses/spam and spyware;
  • Ensure the highest level of network operation and undertake appropriate network support documentation
  • Monitoring network usage and traffic, including reporting any appropriate information
  • Undertaking continuous review and improvement to ensure best practice approach to network administration;
  • Maintain current documentation for network hardware and configurations
  • Document Standard Operating Procedure

 

The successful candidate should possess:

  • 3 – 5 Years of Network Administration Experience is a must.
  • At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • 24/7 Standby duty for critical infrastructures
  • Required Skill(s): ITIL, Cisco / Alcatel-lucent / Palo Alto / Radware / F5 APM
  • Preferably with any two of the given certifications – ITILv3, CCNA, CCNP, F5 CTS, PA PCNSE, PCNSA
  • Certified with ITIL and experience with IT service management best practices
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills on both face to face, written and verbal.
  • Critical thinker, problem-solving skills, Independent as well as a Team player.
  • Good time management, ability to follow the process and strong documentation skill is preferred.
  • Strong awareness and sensitivity of the priority in maintaining full compliance with IT security and operation standards
  • Highly organized, motivated and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure with demanding objectives/timelines
