Equipment Operator

Singapore

An onsite operator will execute the contract workload assigned on time with no impact on health and safety of the people, properties, and environment. He will also perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments and preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. He will directly report to the Service Manager and the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own and safety and others operating in the same working area. Always demonstrate a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance to AWE’s personal protective equipment policy and procedures relevant to the activity performed.
  • Attend daily toolbox talks and work as a team player.
  • Feel empowered to intervene and stop any activity in your vicinity if its found to be affecting or potentially impacting the health and safety of the employees around.
  • Participate in emergency response mock drills and the leading HSE initiatives.
  • Ensure safe and good condition of the tools and tackles before and after use. In case of any doubt on the condition of the tools, highlight the same to the supervisor,
  • Maintain good relationship with the customer when at customer place for after sales service or commissioning. Use analytical and inquisitive skills to get the information required for analysis of site functional problems of the equipment if any complete the assigned tasks to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Ensure that the house keeping of the area where worked is maintained and participate in 5S initiatives.
  • Complete the tasks assigned on daily basis by the supervisor and report the progress to the supervisor.
  • Follow the manufactures guidelines, operating & installation manuals while performing the task.
  • Ensure the relevant operating & installation manuals and manufacturer guidelines are stored in a respective location for future and onsite retrieval.
  • Report any defects, repairs, missing information /items immediately to the supervisor.
  • Share opportunities of improvement in the process, procedures and activities performed to the supervisor.
  • Be open to complete the tasks such as demonstration of the equipment, servicing at customer location ect when required.
  • Any other activities assigned by the Service Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Operational experience for heavy/industrial machinery
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field

 

Preferred Skills and behavioral dimension

 

  • Water jetting and/or construction experience
  • Triplex pump, Centrifugal pump, or diesel engine maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specification.
  • Has self-discipline, a team player and has passion for the company
  • Able to work in multi-nationality environment.
  • SCOC Certified preferred but not mandatory.
