Nurse - Oncology

We are representing a private medical service company that advocates healthcare from diagnosis, treatment and maintenance of good health through a holistic and personalized approach. As a Nurse, you are responsible to provide care for cancer patients and those who are at risk for getting the disease. This position involves complex patient assessments, specialized interventions, patient education, leadership, and ensuring the highest quality of care within the unit.

Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Care:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients within the specialized unit.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as required by the specialized unit’s focus.

Specialized Procedures:

  • Perform complex clinical procedures relevant to the specialized unit’s area of focus.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.

Patient Education:

  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care.
  • Provide detailed guidance on medication management, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members.

Documentation:

  • Maintain meticulous and comprehensive medical records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal documentation standards.

Emergency Response:

  • Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies within the specialized unit.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures during crisis situations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and any additional specialty certifications required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
