VP, Integrated Circuit Engineering

The VP of Integrated Circuit Engineering leads the development of state of the art FPGAs. The candidate plans, provides resources for and directs activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Provides guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues. Plans and schedules daily tasks, uses judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices. Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause moderate inconvenience and expense.

The team is primarily located in Penang, Malaysia and works closely with teams in San Jose and Austin, USA and Toronto, Canada.

 

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead the next wave of growth in Programmable Solution Group’s (PSG) Design Engineering team in Penang. This leader will drive design development and innovation activities at the site, reporting to the VP/GM of PSG Engineering.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes in alignment with   PSG Engineering direction and commitments
  • Develops the organization for sustained growth, developing the people for technical leadership and strong managers.
  • Process improvement to improve efficiencies, in line with PSG Engineering goals for productivity & cost
  • Improved product/IP offerings to ensure competitiveness.
  • Actively engages with the leadership team to solve on-going product/IP execution and organization challenges.
  • Proactively manages stakeholders in the product/IP development process with clear decision making and crisp communication. Ensures that the organization   meets committed budget and plans.
  • Role models the PSG One Engineering mindset and culture of working seamlessly with technology, product and test engineering teams
  • Actively collaborating with PSG Engineering Staff, team members and other Intel groups
  • Develops and implements the Penang Site Strategy aligned with overall PSG Engineering strategy
  • Significant contributions to overall PSG Engineering and business strategies
  • Influencing peers across planning / engineering / marketing to drive major initiatives in the interest of the overall business
  • Be an effective ambassador for PSG/Intel as member of the overall PSG Engineering Leadership team.

 

Requirements:

  • BSEE with 20+ years of experience. Advanced degrees (MSEE, MBA) are a plus.
  • Experience in all aspects of hardware design, including: requirements and specification management, RTL design, modern verification methodologies, DFT, SoC implementation (place and route implementation), emulation, and post silicon validation.
  • Experience in hard IP engineering, analog, and logic design desired.
  • Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder management, communication skills. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing a large (200+ person) organization with evidence of ability to manage a larger (400+ person) team. Able to manage a variety of complex functions and teams supporting a diverse FPGA product portfolio that span a wide range of markets from communications, embedded technology, industrial uses to data center servers, automotive and military applications.
