Senior Manager, Smart Nation Platform - Wireless Communications Networks

Singapore is transforming itself into a Smart Nation, and the Smart Nation Platform is its core initiative to build the next generation enabling infrastructure to support Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.
We are seeking for candidate who is bold in challenging the status quo and creative in problem solving. You are willing to learn new technologies and adapt with the rapidly changing environment in the world of Internet of Things (IoT). You will be a part of the smart design and communications team that is responsible for the identification, incubation and adoption of existing and emerging wireless technologies. Success in this role will be demonstrated by an in-depth knowledge in wireless technologies, protocols, security standards as well as WLAN, 3GPP, Lora-wan or Wi-Sun standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering, design, analysis, and experimentation of various types of wireless networks
  • Understand and evaluate evolving wireless technologies of narrowband and broadband applications that meet the government’s requirements
  • Work with internal customers and external vendors to conduct proof of concepts
  • Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch
  • Design, plan, implement and optimise wireless networks for IoT sensors as part of scaling up for the Smart Nation Platform
  • Project manage and ensure smooth operations of networks and systems, including developing processes and frameworks for resilient operations as well as interfacing network and systems support engineers
  • Understand and recommend sensor and sensor network solutions, including technologies and product roadmaps, for optimum long term capabilities for the Smart Nation Platform

Requirements

  • Disciplines in Computer Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience in implementing and operating resilient hub-spoke or mesh telco wireless networks
  • Familiar with the evolution of 3GPP standards for NB-IOT, 802.11p DSRC, Lora-wan, zigbee, etc
  • Strong technical aptitude and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team in a fast-paced and complex work environment
